Emiko Shiratori is a very elusive quantity when you're searching for information about her in English, although there is a large site in French. The year of her birth isn't even a certainty, as it's been given as anything from 1937 to 1950. She does, however, have a beautiful voice, which is exactly why I'm a fan! What's more commonly known about her is that she performed the theme song for the videogame RPG Final Fantasy IX, Melodies of Life, among many other tracks. This fanlisting is named for my personal favourite of her songs, Heartland - I first heard that when I was 13, and it's stayed with me ever since. The image on the layout was found on a Final Fantasy IX site paired with Nobuo Uematsu, the famed composer of most of the music for the Final Fantasy series, and edited into this layout by me. The lyrics are from Heartland and the English version of Melodies of Life.
